WEBSITE PORTFOLIO

Commercial Website: LGRealestate.com - contract 6/96 to present
Maintaining an HTML 3.2 frames-based web site with 84 pages for The Marketing Place. Wrote a PostScript program to automatically generate GIF rollover icons, including calculating the underlying JavaScript code. Automated JPEG image reformation in Photoshop using AppleScript. Installed CGI/Perl scripts to pass email and store data from feedback forms.

Business Entity: ZapMap.com - owner 6/97 to present
Created highly interactive, vector-based street maps written in Java (1200 lines of code) as an applet which uses JavaScript to set screen size parameters. Provided high interactivity to users by including control buttons which toggle place labels and street names, and choice lists which select the categories of places to display. The website's access logs are maintained using AppleScript (to control the Fetch utility) and MPW streamedit scripts to extract relevant data.

Community Portal: ShopWillowGlen.com - owner 1/00 to present
A collection of hot-spot imagemaps generated using business data accumulated from extensive sources. The images and HTML files are generated automatically from PostScript programs running on GhostScript and Adobe Acrobat Distiller. The 2500 line Java backend application has 31 classes and extracts and processes key data from several databases by sending SQL as Java strings to JDBC methods.

Experimental Website: Busroutes.com - owner 2/99 to present
Demonstrates a fundamental level of understanding of HTML 4.0, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Layers, DHTML, and XML. Created the imagemap using pixel manipulation in PostScript.

Automated the downloading and analysis of PostScript test suites, enabling most to run unattended overnight, completing in 24 hours a cycle that used to take several days. Wrote low-level code for inclusion within laser printer ROMs to provide end user with an easy-to-read hardcopy menu flowchart, dynamically reflecting printer features.

Software Engineer, SQA - Ashton-Tate 1988 to 1991
Testing database and spreadsheet applications. Software development using MPW C and MacsBug.

Systems Programmer, Forms Designer - CCH Computax 1980 to 1985
