Charge point operator Believ has announced a new strategic partnership with Marston’s PLC, one of the UK’s leading local pub and hotel operators, to deliver fully funded EV charging infrastructure and further expand Marston’s EV charging network.

The partnership marks the start of a long-term collaboration between the two brands, with the first installations expected to go live in late 2026. The rollout will support Marston’s extensive UK estate of pubs, many of which also feature on-site accommodation, providing convenient and reliable EV charging for customers, communities and businesses.

Marston’s already benefits from a charging network spanning 542 chargers across 195 sites. This additional partnership with Believ marks the next phase of that ambition, accelerating the rollout of Standard, Standard Plus and Ultra-Rapid charging to new sites across the Marston's estate. The mix of charging speeds, tailored to different dwell times, will enable drivers to charge while eating or staying overnight. At least one accessible charging bay will be included at participating sites, supporting inclusive access for all EV drivers.

The project will be fully funded by Believ, with the CPO providing an end-to-end service covering site assessment, design, installation, operation and ongoing maintenance. This approach removes upfront capital expenditure and operational complexity for Marston’s, while ensuring future-proofed charging infrastructure at scale.

Megan Goldstein, Head of Transaction Management at Believ said:

“Marston’s pubs and hotels are a perfect match for EV charging, giving drivers the chance to top up while they’re already enjoying a meal or fully charge while staying overnight.

“It’s a strong vote of confidence for Believ to be chosen by such an established and experienced partner as Marston’s. By choosing Believ’s fully funded, end-to-end model, Marston’s can deliver scalable EV infrastructure across its estate without upfront cost, while supporting customer experience, sustainability ambitions and long-term value.”

Chris White, Energy Manager at Marston’s added:

“Since 2018, we've built one of the largest rapid and ultra-fast EV charging network in UK hospitality, and we have no intention of slowing down.

“Bringing Believ on board as our second EV charging partner gives us the platform to extend that network to new sites across our estate, for the benefit of our guests and the communities we serve. Their fully funded, end-to-end model removes the barriers to doing this at scale, and we're excited to give even more customers the ability to charge while they visit our pubs."
