- GRIDSERVE and Roadchef have launched 12 x 360kW-capable EV chargers at Folkestone Services, a strategic "gateway" for M20 drivers and those traveling via the Channel Tunnel.
- The 360kW technology allows compatible EVs to add 100 miles of range in under 10 minutes, supporting both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors for maximum vehicle compatibility.
- The site offers 100% net zero energy and a simple "plug-in and pay" contactless system, with access to on-site amenities including McDonald’s and Costa Coffee.
GRIDSERVE has announced the opening of its latest Electric Super Hub with Roadchef at Folkestone M20 Services, delivering ultra-rapid Electric Vehicle (EV) charging at one of the UK’s most strategically important transport locations.
Situated close to the M20 and key routes to the Channel Tunnel, the new hub launches with 12 x 360kW-capable EV chargers, powerful enough for the latest electric vehicles to acquire 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes.
As with all GRIDSERVE Electric Super Hubs, the site is powered by net zero energy and offers a simple ‘plug in and pay’ two-step charging process with contactless payment. All of GRIDSERVE's chargers can be found on the Zapmap app where they share live status and availability information, 24/7.

“The opening of our new Electric Super Hub at Roadchef Folkestone M20 marks another important step in building a truly national charging network that drivers can depend on. Perfectly positioned near the Channel Tunnel, this hub serves as both a final stop for UK motorists heading into Europe and a welcoming first charge for drivers arriving from France.
Wherever they’re coming from, or heading to, we want every driver to benefit from the high speed, assured reliability and ultra convenience that continue to make GRIDSERVE the most used charging network in the UK.”
Walt Antrim, Head of EV Implementation at Roadchef, added:
“Folkestone is a critical location for EV drivers travelling both domestically and internationally, sitting at one of the UK’s busiest gateways to Europe. By expanding charging capacity here, we’re helping ensure drivers have access to fast, dependable charging at a key gateway, supporting the continued growth of electric vehicle travel.”
