Duracell E-Charge, has officially launched its second site, bringing high-powered, reliable charging to Newcastle.

Located at Sands Road, Swalwell (NE16 3DJ), the new hub is strategically positioned just a short distance from the Metrocentre and local amenities.

The Swalwell site features six ultra-rapid 300 kW chargers, serving a total of 12 charging bays. These high-power devices are designed to get drivers back on the road in minutes, providing the speed and performance associated with the iconic Duracell brand.

Consistent with Duracell E-Charge’s commitment to quality, the site targets a 99%+ uptime and is powered by 100% renewable energy. To make the experience even more convenient, EV drivers can enjoy free parking for up to one hour while actively charging.

Drivers can easily locate the new Newcastle hub and check real-time availability using the Zapmap app. By using the network filter for 'Duracell E-Charge,' users can plan their route to the Swalwell site, view pricing, and see live status updates to ensure a charger is ready upon arrival.

This launch follows the opening of Duracell E-Charge's inaugural UK site in Cheltenham last December. It marks the next step in a major nationwide rollout, supported by a planned £200 million investment over the next decade to establish reliable charging hubs at retail destinations, motorways, and urban gateways across the UK.
