Moto Charge has officially entered the UK's electric vehicle (EV) charging market, with the motorway service area operator rolling out its own network featuring charging speeds of up to 400kW.

The launch of Moto Charge marks a significant new strategy for Moto Hospitality, which had previously relied solely on third-party charge point operators (CPOs) like GRIDSERVE and Tesla to provide its over 1,000 existing charging bays. Moto has confirmed these third-party CPOs will remain, offering drivers an even wider choice.

The new in-house network is set to become one of the fastest available in the UK, utilising ABB A400 chargers capable of delivering charging speeds of up to 400kW. This ultra-rapid capability is designed to fully support the fastest-charging electric cars currently on the market.

The inaugural Moto Charge site is now open at Toddington North services on the M1 Motorway, and can be found on the Zapmap app or web map.

Moto is committed to expanding its footprint across the UK's major motorway routes, strategically placing new hubs to enhance accessibility. The company has confirmed that all new sites will exclusively open with ultra-rapid chargers.
