char.gy

char.gy is a charging network offering On-street charging. As of the end of September 2025 char.gy had a total of 4,460 charge points across the UK.

char.gy works with local authorities to help provide EV charging infrastructure for those without off-street charging. It manufactures and operates lamppost-mounted, on-street residential electric vehicle charge points. Because there is no need to dig up the pavement – the charge points’ electricity supply is from the lamppost feed – installation is faster than with a conventional unit. char.gy charge points units use a Type 2 inlet, and charging at up to 7.7 kWh is possible where infrastructure allows.

Where can you find char.gy charge points?

char.gy charge points are available nationwide and there are currently 4,460 across 4,452 locations which can all be found in the Zapmap app or on the Zapmap desktop map.  
Simply use the Network filter on the app to pinpoint the charge points, there you'll also find the address, a detailed break down of the char.gy charge points at each location, their live status (where available), charge point speeds, costs to charge, and star ratings, photos and feedback from other Zapmap users.
