InstaVolt is expanding its partnership with property development and investment company, British Land to continue work on one of the UK’s largest retail park EV charging rollouts.
The partnership comprises 18 British Land locations already progressing through development, with 273 charging devices between them. Five of the sites are already live, with the rest due for activation over the coming months.
Two InstaVolt sites currently in development – at Reading Gate and Kingston, Milton Keynes – will feature on-site battery energy storage. The technology helps maintain consistent Ultra-rapid performance during the busiest periods and eases demand on the local grid, supporting reliable charging even at peak times.
Retail parks are a natural home for Ultra-rapid charging, bringing reliable infrastructure to high-footfall destinations where drivers already spend time. The rollout reinforces their role as everyday charging hubs in the transition to electric vehicles.
EV drivers can find InstaVolt chargers via the Zapmap app or web map, where live status and availability information is shared 24 hours a day.
